- Mesh Corner Protection: Specialised refurbishment of Mesh Corner and Mesh DAR (Delayed Auto Reclose) protection systems to ensure fault clearance and system resilience.
- Sites: Thorpe Marsh 400kV, Berkswell MC6, Monk Fryston MC2 & 3, and South Shields MC1 & 2.
Selective Protection Asset Replacement (SPAR
TES Limited is a key delivery partner for the National Grid’s SPAR programme, aimed at extending the operational life of critical assets through targeted intervention and replacement.
Supergrid Transformers (SGT) & Mechanically Switched Capacitors (MSC):
We have executed complex replacement works across the country, minimising outage times and ensuring seamless integration with existing schemes.
- SGT SPAR: Works completed at Monk Fryston, North Hyde, Skelton Grange, Chessington, and Tynemouth.
- MSC SPAR: Upgrades at Kirkby, Bradford West, Capenhurst, and West Melton.
- Mesh Corner SPAR: Targeted replacements at Monk Fryston and Chessington.
Substation Control Systems (SCS):
We modernise control interfaces to improve operator visibility and network management, including SCS replacements at Burwell, Bridgwater, and South Shields.

Elstree 400/132kV Substation Expansion:
We delivered a significant 8-bay Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) extension at Elstree. This comprehensive project included the installation and commissioning of Bus Sections, Bus Couplers, Feeders, and Transformers, significantly bolstering the substation’s capability.
Circuit Breaker & Switchgear Works:
Our teams handle the installation and replacement of primary plant equipment, ensuring safe and reliable switching operations.
- Walham – Pembroke: Feeder Circuit Breaker installation.
- Chickerell – Exeter: Feeder Circuit Breaker installation.
